DAY TREK ITINERARIES, All treks based in Dingle.
The Stables, Dingle Horse Riding
One Hour Trek Itinerary
This trek takes riders up into the hills overlooking the beautiful Dingle Peninsula. You leave the Stables and follow an old country road through lush Irish farmland to a small hillside path that leads you up into the hills. At the top, there is a chance for more experienced riders to quicken the pace with a canter along the ridge while less experienced riders can enjoy the scenery and take advantage of an unmissable photo opportunity. The view is magnificent--behind you, the Brandon Mountain Range, in front of you a patchwork of green fields and the sea beyond. From here you head back to the Stables by a hillside path overlooking the town of Dingle and the busy harbour beyond.
This is a one hour long trek which departs daily at 11:00 & 2:30.
Cost €30 per person. This trek is intended for, but not restricted to, beginners
Riding in Dingle Harbour
Two Hour Trek Itinerary
This trek sets out from the Stables and follows much the same path as the one-hour trek, but at a faster pace. You then head down through town and out around the Harbour where you have a good chance of seeing Fungi,, the Dingle dolphin. Down on the beach, in the shadow of ancient ruins, you can go for an exhilarating gallop along the shore before cooling off in the sea. You then make your return to the Stables via Main Street, passing pubs and restaurants that you might want to visit after your trek!
This is a two hour long trek which departs daily at 11:00.
Cost €50 per person. This trek is suitable for intermediate and advanced riders only
Dingle Harbour
Half Day Trek Itinerary
This trek takes you to the most westerly landfall in Europe. You leave the stables and cut across the Dingle Peninsula in the shadow of Mount Brandon. Your destination is the beautiful beach in Muireach, nestled in a cove protected from the roaring Atlantic by the famous peaks of the Three Sisters. Once on the beach, you can gallop along shore or bring your horse wading in the sea. Have a camera ready because this beach is one of the most picturesque beaches in Ireland and pictures taken here will be a memory for a life time!
This is a three to four hour trek which departs at 10:00 each morning with a minimum of two riders.
Cost €95 per person. This trek is suitable for intermediate and advanced riders only..
Ballinaboula, Dingle 1& 2 hr trek
Full Day Trek Itinerary
This trek leaves the stables and follows the Harbour coast overlooking Lord Ventry's Estate (the setting for some of the film Ryan's Daughter) before turning inland to make your way to the sleepy village of Ventry. Once there, you head out onto the beach for a gallop, which will earn you a well deserved break for lunch in Páidi O'Sé's Pub. After lunch you set out to make your way up Mount Eagle. The going can be difficult, but it will be worth it when you get to the top and see the breathtaking view of Dunquin with the famous Great Blasket Island and The Sleeping Giant beyond. From here you turn and head home, making your way through lush farmland full of fields dotted with ancient ruins.
This is a five to six hour trek which departs at 10:00 each morning with a minimum of two riders.
Cost €135 per person (including a light lunch). This trek is suitable for intermediate and advanced riders only
